OPEN CALL · NEW YORK CITY · SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY
THE INAUGURAL BILL
The living theater. The bill is never the same.
An original New York variety competition where extraordinary acts share one stage—regardless of discipline. Singers, dancers, drag artists, comedians, magicians, musicians, puppeteers, poets and unexpected talents compete on the strength of their performance.
HKNY Entertainment is developing the inaugural ten-act edition and inviting businesses to discuss sponsorship. The performance date, venue, final cast and booking conditions have not yet been announced.
Producer: HKNY Entertainment
Edition: The Inaugural Bill
Format: Ten competitive acts, drawn from any performance discipline
Planned runtime: Approximately two hours, subject to venue and final production
Proposed host/judge: Blossom Dior, subject to agreement
Proposed awards: $1,000 Grand Prize and $500 Runner-Up
Venue and date: To be confirmed
Sponsorship target: $10,000 proposed for the full competition
Status: In development; seeking commercial partners
The Inaugural Bill is conceived as a true variety show, not a drag-only contest. Ten selected acts perform across two halves. The bill can move between music, dance, comedy, theatrical spectacle, circus arts, spoken word and more, with no mandatory quota for any discipline.
A proposed five-minute performance limit per act keeps the evening moving. The producer coordinates casting, technical requirements, show management, rehearsals where needed and artist participation agreements.
After the cast and event date are confirmed, a free public vote may determine which act receives the Headliner designation and first consideration among selected featured positions in the running order. It does not control the judge's awards.
The proposed judged awards are $1,000 for Grand Prize and $500 for Runner-Up. Judging rules, eligibility, prize funding, tie-breakers and performer terms must be finalized and published before the contest is launched.
A separate, optional audience-recognition award may be introduced if its voting rules and funding are confirmed. No Encore cash prize or dedicated Encore sponsorship is currently included in the launch menu.
The leading shared-sponsor position when there is no exclusive presenting sponsor. Benefits: premium approved promotional placement, a linked sponsor story and a scheduled host acknowledgment where suitable.
A featured business profile with an approved statement, a direct website link, selected visual recognition and any specifically contracted host mention.
The named lead partner: “Presented by” identification on approved artwork, top billing on the digital production page, a substantial linked sponsor profile and agreed opening, intermission or closing host recognition.
Support the working costs of the event and receive approved business name and link recognition on the production page and selected shared materials.
An accessible digital-first acknowledgment with sponsor name and approved business link. This level does not automatically include live recognition.
A sponsor can help bring an original creative property to life and receive a defined commercial association with the production. The goal is more than a logo on a flyer: an approved business story, relevant event visibility and a thoughtful connection to the people who make live entertainment possible.
Benefits include digital production-page recognition, approved artwork or playbill placement, a linked business profile, named host acknowledgments and a planned sponsor interaction when appropriate. Specific placements, timing and frequency are established in the sponsor agreement.
The sole headline commercial partnership for the core production. Proposed benefits include “Presented by” naming, the highest approved logo placement, a substantial linked sponsor spotlight, priority acknowledgment by the host and a planned sponsor conversation when suitable. Category exclusivity and any permitted supporting sponsor recognition are negotiated in writing.
The lead position on a shared-sponsor bill, including premium approved promotional placement, a featured linked business story and named onstage recognition as specified in the agreement.
A featured commercial relationship with approved digital recognition, sponsor-story placement, selected promotional materials and contracted host acknowledgment where appropriate.
Support the production and receive approved business name, website link and recognition on the event page or selected shared promotional materials. Onstage exposure is included only when specifically contracted.
DISCUSS VAUDEVILLE SPONSORSHIP
The full competition budget includes ten performer appearance guarantees, the host/judge, a DJ, stage management, technical support, promotion, documentation, event logistics and the $1,500 in judged cash awards. Insurance, music and performance permissions, venue requirements and contingency also need to be addressed.
Businesses that value New York's creative economy and want a meaningful live-entertainment affiliation: hospitality groups, local retailers, professional services, beauty and fashion businesses, arts-supporting brands and other suitable commercial partners. Sponsor suitability and category conflicts are reviewed before approval.
Vaudeville needs a room suitable for a changing bill: safe performance space, sound and lighting appropriate to the selected acts, practical transitions, audience seating or standing arrangements, backstage considerations and a venue team able to support the agreed format.
The venue model is sponsor-funded: the venue continues operating its hospitality business and retains its bar sales, while HKNY manages its contracted production obligations. Any additional staffing, equipment, insurance, venue rental or technical expense must be allocated in writing.
Until a venue, date, cast and audience plan are confirmed, the production does not claim actual attendance figures, demographic reach, ticket sales, sponsor impressions or booked exposure.
Review the creative premise, audience context, development stage and proposed sponsorship packages.
Tell HKNY about your business, marketing goals, package interest and any desired category exclusivity.
Receive written terms covering amount, payment schedule, benefits, creative approvals, delivery window, cancellation or postponement remedies and sponsor reporting.
Once adequate collectible funding, venue feasibility, insurance, prize commitments and production requirements are secured, HKNY may announce a booked edition and fulfill the contracted sponsorship.
The Inaugural Bill needs the right room, outstanding talent and commercial partners who want to be part of something new. Sponsorship conversations are open while production terms are being developed.
